Trophy Elk of New Mexico are found in greatest abundance in the north part of the Gila National Forest with bulls scoring 380+. These Trophy Bulls will out score most elk in the western USA. I guide in unit 15A, since this unit is limited to muzzleloader or bow only, it is truly a Trophy Elk Hotspot.

Black Bear and Cougar can be hunted during your elk hunt. I have trained hounds for bear and cougar and these hunts can get real western. If the old west puts a stir in your bones then a hound hunt is for you. Bear or Cougar booked separately from elk hunts.

Elk hunts in unit 44-45 are conducted in the Pecos Wilderness of northern New Mexico and are pack-in horseback hunts. The scenery and the experience are exceptional. I will have one muzzleloader hunt and two rifle hunts in the Pecos. If you prefer a rifle hunt book early. Black Bear and Cougar are also available on Pecos Wilderness elk hunts.
