Lion Hunts

Cougar season runs Oct. 1 - Mar.31 but cougar harvest objectives have been reached early the last 2 years cutting the season short, so you need to plan your hunt as early as possible.

Cougar hunts are five day hunts mainly in the dead of winter when you can experience a true feeling of wilderness and everything you have learned about survival will be rushing through your mind. With the possibility of deep snow and sub-zero temperatures these hunts are not for the timid. It is often the norm not to see anyone once you leave the road.

The cougar is a very powerful animal and commands a lot of respect. It can and does take down full grown elk.

Hunts are generally on horseback and you will get to see the hounds WORK. Cougar hunts are slower than bear hunts as the hounds have to do more trailing on fainter scent which gives you a chance to see a hound's ability to trail. Cougars do not run as far as bear so in that respect cougar hunting is easier.

If wilderness and winter scenery sound exciting, cougar hunting we will go.
